I am back from a great week visiting friends and scrapbooking in Arkansas. I didn’t end up getting as much as I would have liked accomplished, but I had so much fun that I don’t feel too bad about it. Throughout the week I will post some of the things that I did do.
Now, to tell you a little about what I was doing down there. The first year we moved to Arkansas I didn’t know very many people. I struggle with warming up to people at first, so when I heard about this Scrapbook Extravaganza, I decided that I would go and see what it was like and maybe meet some people. Well, I didn’t really meet anyone there, as I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of people. There were about 250 women there and I had only cropped one other time. On Friday night it was a crop night, and Saturday is filled with classes that were being taught by reps of some of the scrapbook companies. After classes there was more time to crop and they handed out tons of door prizes. Eventually, I became part of the design team for the store that hosts the extravaganza, and I have been to all but one since, teaching classes and helping out when I can. They have evolved throughout the years, and this year there were about 450 ladies there. I did teach a couple of classes there this year, and I forgot what it was like to teach to that many people at once (no, I did not teach to all 450 ladies, I had smaller classes of 12 and 19).
While I was there, I had a few ideas that I am going to try out here on the blog. First, I am going to attempt to do some tutorials on a few of the things that I have made. I have come to learn that I am not a very good explainer of things, so I figure if I can show you exactly what I am doing, that would be a lot easier. I am going to hold off a the other ideas for now as I sort them through my jumbled brain, but I am excited to get to them.
Please, if you have any suggestions or ideas for me, let me know. I am a firm believer in constructive criticism and truthfulness, so don’t hold back!
