Hello! I am so beyond excited to have you for a visit here. Welcome to my new bloggy home!
Have a look around and let me know what you think.
There are a few things that I am trying to work out the kinks of, but hopefully those will be fixed soon.
With this new format, I am looking to bring you some new content, such as more video tutorials, more posts, and a few other things I may have up my sleeve 😉
But for today, I have a new challenge from the 365 Cards blog, Emboss It:
Create a clean and simple card that includes embossing.
And here is my card. I used some really great stamps from our sponsor this week, DRS Designs.
My daughter is getting confirmed this weekend, so I thought this would be a great card for her.
I started by using Versamark ink to stamp the crosses image and then used gold powder to emboss it. Next, I ran the image through my Cuttlebug machine with a Spellbinder’s die to cut it out. And since I can never figure out how to get the edges embossed to a point where I like them, I leave the shape in the die cut and use my embossing stick tool to go around the inside edges of the die. And voila! I have embossed edges!!
I used the ticket corner punch from Stampin’ Up for the card base corners to tie it all in and a piece of gold webbed ribbon was the final touch. (I really like how the webbed ribbon reminds me of the thorned crown that Jesus wore on the cross.)
And here is the inside of the card. Since I messed up and the sentiment was stamped slightly crooked, I stamped it again on a seperate piece of paper, cut it down to size, used a ticket corner punch, stuck down some gold striped washi tape from Freckled Fawn, and then adhered the sentiment down.
Well, I hope to see you back real soon!!
